About Little Monsters

Little Monsters Childcare began 12 years ago as a small childminder in a house with an idea about how important Play is to children's development and life experiences.

As time went on, we grew to be the only Nursery and Pre-school in the area dedicated to ensuring play was the central feature of a child's day.

Our qualified and dedicated team of Practitioners work closely with family to ensure children are having the best possible experience at Little Monsters.

At Little Monsters, we pride ourselves on having brilliant relationships with the parents who trust us with their children. We work with parents to make sure that their child is looked after the way they want, and we follow the schedule that a child has at home to ensure care is continuous and routine orientated. this ensures a child is secure in their environment and in their carers.

We are rated 'Good' by OFSTED with some lovely remarks in our report:

" The well-qualified staff support children to make good progress in their learning. They use children's ideas and interests well to support their planning for children's individual next steps in learning. "

" Parents speak highly of the setting. They explain how they are kept well informed of what their child is learning and that their children are very settled and love attending. "

We are continually evolving to be better. We always want to see what a child needs to enable their learning, and striving to accommodate every child, every day, to be the best they can be.

Finally - we have excellent connections to the community. We often have fun days and parties to raise money for local charities Like Gloucester Feed the Hungry, and national charities like Salvation Army - as well as attending local care homes at Christmas to sing carols and visit the elderly at what can be a lonely time.

Chris - Owner

Kirsten - Business Manager

Chris began childminding 12 years ago, and has worked hard to get Play Work noticed within the educational world. Chris holds Degrees in Playwork and recently completed her Masters in Play Work.

In Setting, Chris is a massive fan of messy play, but she enjoys every aspect of her work, and it shows!

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with her own children, listening to music and salsa dancing!

Kirsten - Business Manager

Kirsten started at Little Monsters in 2018 after being a Property Manager for a large Lettings Company.

Kirsten is in charge of running the day to day bits and pieces of the setting, and will often be the person to answer your phone call!

Kirsten's favourite thing to do in setting music and movement.

in her spare time Kirsten is a salsa teacher which is where she met Chris! She also loves spending time with all her animals and her daughter

Tori - Deputy Manager

Tori worked for Little Monsters a few years ago, and left to explore different opportunities of working with vulnerable children.

We were delighted to have her back and all her experience.

In her spare time, Tori loves to go out with her friends, and to spend time with her family - particularly on her holidays abroad!

Bev - Practitioner

Bev has been working for Little Monsters for 6 years. She is another fan of messy play, and really enjoys encouraging the children to try something new and try different ideas.

Bev works with our babies and toddlers.

Outside of work, Bev really enjoys doing lots of different dance classes, and can often be spotted bopping out a dance routine while we're having a disco!

Michelle - Practitioner

Michelle has recently joined the Little Monsters Team and has brought such a wealth of experience from her previous work as a practitioner.

Michelle enjoys playing Bingo, and particularly loves a night with all her kids.

Katy - Practitioner

Michelle - Practitioner

Katy is a new addition to our team. She spends her days split between babies and toddlers and in preschool, and very much enjoys getting deeply involved in the games and play the children do.

Outside of work, Katy likes to spend time with her family, and to go out clubbing with her sister. Katy is also an avid reader.

Karen - Practitioner

Karen has worked in childcare for 26 years - mostly with 0-3 year old children.

Karen really enjoys watching the children develop through free play and watching them experience messy play with their friends!

Karen works with our Babies and Toddlers.

In her spare time, Karen like to spend time with her family - especially with all her grandchildren!

Eva - Practitioner

Eva qualified with us in 2020 after being our apprentice.

Outside of work, Eva enjoys playing with her cats and spending time with her family. Eva works mostly with our babies and toddlers.

Eva is also incredibly talented at eating with chopsticks!
